I believe the first definition of diversity is more useful because it recognized us as individuals as well as part of larger social economic and ideological groups which the second definition ignored. It is important to include these things when discussing diversity because it is such a large factor of discrimination which is very important to acknowledge when mentioning diversity.
I think that the third images "Invisible Diversity Traits" will be best help as we proceed through the class as these most terms are intrinsically related to the more broader terms such as race, gender, age, etc. Understanding the underlying/invisible traits can help one understand a character's motivations beyond surface level thinking, which is a similar approach to reading a play "backwards".
